My Pet Peeve
Could someone please explain to me why it is so hard to return a shopping cart to the cart return area? This loose cart phenomenon has worked its way up to the top of my pet peeves list.
This is a photo that I took at my local Target:
Judging from this photo, you would assume that a cart return area was not available or it was located across the parking lot. Not so. It was only 5 feet away from all of these carts! What gives!? I've seen people wrestle with carts to lodge them onto a curb when they could have just walked the cart to the return area in less time. On more than one occasion I've been tempted to ask one of these people what in the world they are thinking. Is it really that hard to walk the extra 5 feet to put your cart away? I don't get it...
Do you have a random pet peeve? If so, please share!

Good One! I blame runaway carts for all the dings I have on my car and those lazy people who can't put the cart away!
SER-I-OUS-LY. The cart thing makes me crazier than Minnie on Peanut Butter.

My pet peeve-
Parents of loud obnoxious kids and babies at restaurants. Including the parents that let their kids wander around bothering other tables. IT DRIVES ME INSANE.
The lack of respect and consideration for others is despicable.
We have 4 kids, and have taken them out to lunch and dinner all their lives, from 8 weeks old and up. When they were infants and didn’t know better, we timed our outings to maximize the chance they would be asleep or quiet. If they weren’t, one of us would take the baby OUT of the restaurant, into the car, until they quieted down. As they got older, any behavior that was not acceptable (loud noises, crying, whining, getting out of the chair) was addressed once with firm instruction and correction, and then if it continued, a timely escort out to the car and a loving flat hand applied to the buttocks in quick forceful motions. That happened to each child probably only once.
To this day people comment to us in restaurants how well-behaved our children are. If you are against spanking and have kids YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE!
:)
I agree that this many loose carts is over the top. BUT, in defense of mothers of multiple young children, it is helpful to get out of your car and have a cart close by to put your kids in. I look for them:) Also, if you aren't really close to the corral, it is scary to leave your kids alone in the car while you walk several feet away to put it away. Obviously all violaters don't fit this description, but some do. I'm just sayin...
